The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has inaugurated its Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) Chapter (ICAN NIA Chapter) to enhance professional growth within the accountancy sector.
The ceremony took place at the Insurers House in Lagos, marking a new chapter for collaboration and learning among accounting professionals, reported .听
ICAN Diamond president Chief Davidson C.S. Alaribe presided over the event, which included the swearing-in of Dr. Emmanuel Otitolaiye, CFO of Linkage Assurance, as the pioneer chairman of the Chapter.
This move is part of ICAN’s strategy to foster professional development and ensure members are well-equipped to navigate the evolving business landscape.
The administration of the newly inaugurated ICAN NIA Chapter is set to promote a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
It aims to provide members with the necessary resources and support to excel, with a particular emphasis on membership drives, training, and events.听聽

Otitolaiye’s academic credentials including a BSc in Accounting from the University of Lagos, an MSc in Accounting from Babcock University, and a PhD in Accounting also from Babcock University, among others.
He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, as well as an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Insurance Brokers.
In December 2024, ICAN outlined its 2025 objectives, which include supporting digital transformation, enhancing service quality, and fostering better networking among its members.听聽
